Happy new year jarheads. Hopefully it will be a healthy and happy one. I'm celebrating with two warm cans of black label beer, just like the good ol days.
I've been in contact with an old high school bud, Marty Corona Golf 2/9. So that's a good start to a new year. One of the last times I saw Marty was on the old French road during kingfisher. Not the best place re connect and talk about the old days.
Anyway, glad to have this board to talk and find old buddies. Thanks for all your time and effort Gabe.

Happy New Year Willie and all you 2/9ers.

Marty Corona was the Plt Sgt of Fox 3 when I joined the company in 10/67.

I hadn't seen Marty in 40+ years until meeting him in April at the Fox mini-reunion in Stafford VA.

You are both right about Marty. Marty was my first squad leader when I arrived at Gio Linh in August 1967. He was and is the best.
If it weren't for Marty, I wouldn't be here today.

I was surfing through the old posts on the site and came across this one.
I see Marty Corona almost every week. There's a group of about 6/8 vets that meet and talk about things going on in our life. We share information , talk about stuff that only another vet could understand.
This is why this site is so important. You connect with people that have had a lasting impression on your life.
So thanks to Red for starting the site and Gabe for continuing it..
