Allyn:
I knew a GySgt Peoples back in '73 when I was attached to C 1/11. He was african-american, believe he was 0331.

Hey Michael, Not to start an argument but Pineapple and Ernie Peoples are 2 different people. Ernie had rotated by this time. He showed up later in 1968 with 3/9 at LLZ Stud. I tried to find out if he survived that tour but no luck. Pineapple was point that day . He spotted an arm move a branch by the trail on that ridge. Then the claymore went off and both sides opened up. Pineapple lost aneye and I never saw him again. We prepared to mortar the area then we were ordered to a different area to hunt up base camps and supplies. More claymores, ambushes, shootouts, etc. Feel free to challenge my memory, it"s not perfect. Allyn
