Here be Delta - 5, Old French Fort, D-5, Mai Loc,

this looks familiar from December 67 to Feb 68 part of Echo company was at this location for strange events

The perimeter looks similar to our time but it looks like there have been more people moved to a relocation village. Seems like the box was in the middle but this one looks a bit fancier than I recall.

Again I sleep with the rats that were located in the first bunker to the left going in the gate. I did radio watch and ambushes and listen posts reported strange events many nights. Nothing important unless you were the one who turned the claymores around backward.

I am pretty sure that relocation village was not there when we were there as that is out on the opposite side of the entrance gate and the only people out there when we were there had on NVA uniforms.

This may have been the twin 40 that was parked at the gate of D-5 and used to communicate with the ARVN after the fragging. Very likely the machine.
D-5 end of Dec 67 and Jan 68.

Hey Mr. Bill, I remember that concrete fort well. One night my squad stood watch there. While 2 guys stood watch the rest of us partied on the upper floor with Tiger P*ss and Armed Forces Radio rock & roll. The ground floor had an array of RF/PF M-1s, M-1 carbines, Thompsons and BARs. All laid out ready to use. (By whom?) SF, Allyn.
