more The ridge to the north which lead to the top of Dong Ha Mountain.

I always called it recoiless rifle ridge and did not like it.

what should we look at next?

Ok here is what our problem was. Those little red flags pointing to the left are very large bunches of NVA. The little green flagy pointing right is Dong Ha.

As you can see there seems to be two red flagys over on Dong HA Mountain or my recoiless ridge.

Camp JJ Carroll is a bit hard to figure out. This is an NVA map and they did not care in December when they drew the map with all of the plans for attacking in Jan and the first part of Feb.

I have written Carroll in green but that is along the ambush planned along route 9. I think the NVA Carroll is just to the left of the 241.

Indications there were red flagys all over in the Mountains and one right out in the Middle of Leatherneck Square.

There was no plan to attach Carroll but there were plans to ambush along the roads and to attack Cam Lo for sure. Nice map check it on the internet and it will tell you what is says in English.

The approach to Camp JJ Carroll as it appeared in late 1967.

Most likely taken from the tower right there.

Be sure to scroll up and down in the approach picture. Dong Ha Mountian up to the right out of view. And out in the back there is where the Rock pile and Razor back ridge are located although I do not see them here but they are right there. As were the 175s.

Great view to the south from Camp JJ Carrol. If you have seen this somewhere before in this post then I should have not put it in again. If not it is a nice view.
