27th Marines

Postby AK48 » Sun Jul 13, 2014 10:03 pm

Anybody remember when we got a number of replacements from the 27th in the fall of 1968? The 27th Regiment left RVN but a lot of their people became replacement troops. There was an LT who joined Echo who was on the ball but I can't remember his name. Anybody know? SF, Allyn Kahoe

I have a good friend, Grady Birdsong that joined 2/9 from the 27th Marines. He lives in Colorado. I was already out of country. I will call and ask Grady if he remembers any of the guys from the 27th.

John, I didn't know that you knew Grady. I see him from time to time over
at the Vet Center. Great guy!

Ya Phil, Grady is a hunting buddy of mine. I wont make it this year but will definitely hunt Colorado next year with him and Dick Rosser. Dick was a chopper pilot with over 850 combat missions in Vietnam. You may have met him too.
