I was in the second squad, third platoon during 67-68 era. I arrived in country in Oct 67 and left in Aug68. I can't remember you but I do remember Filo Morales. We spent some time in the bush together and I met up with him in Okinawa on the way home. We slugged down numerous beers together before parting company. I believe that Filo was from somewhere in or around L.A.

I got to the 2nd Platoon 2nd Squad August 2, 1967 and was wounded on February 2,1968 during Tet '68; was part of the Guns team. I am Raymond Henderson and I remember Morales and always wondered what happen to him. images2u@gmail.com

I just noticed after reading the last " Battalio Runner " that Filo Morales was listed as a new member. I wasn't sure if you noticed the info.

Sgt. Cerda: I was with Fox 2nd platoon from Nov. '66 until Mar.'67, when I was transferred to Echo Co. 2/9. I'm sorry but I can't place you. It seems that I rememer Sgts Kerr and Gilley, and Gunnery Sgt Sloan from Fox Co. Did you know Benny Butler ( machine gunner) or Ed Paine (corpsman ) who were killed near Con Thien in May of '67. I have had contact with Doc Brown, the other corpsman I was with in Fox 2nd platoon and Robbie Wright our 3.75 A gunner. Did you serve with Lt Willoughby (sp?) of Fox 2nd platoon? You must remember the trip to the Ben Hai July 29,1967 when the entire battalion got "ambushed". Let us remember all 2/9 ers who made the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day 2010. Semper Fi
