To Ron Bowen and the other men who PM'd me, thank you for those kind words. Every year I can't help but reflect on how strange life can be. Some of us lived to be 'old men' and some never had the chance. Today, the 5th, is the anniversary of the ambush. It is also the birthday of one of my grand daughters(8). The post yesterday was to mention it in general. I know all who lived to return to the land of the big PX are grateful for that life. Ron, and I, John, and many others will never forget! SF, Pete

Watch the movie "The Horse Soldiers" staring John Wayne. It is based on actual events during the civil war. We did the same thing but without horses. They tore up railroad tracks and we cut down powerlines and destroyed enemy equipment... and nobody cares!!!
